“My doctor says I have neuropathy, and I need to live with it.”

“My doctor says I have neuropathy, and I need to live with it.”

“My doctor says I have neuropathy, and I need to live with it. Is this true?” This is the most common question we receive every day both by telephone, and in the social media.

Unfortunately, most doctors in all disciplines are unprepared to answer that question. The fact the matter is we now know much more about effective neuropathy treatment than ever before. It takes a tremendous degree of training, education, and research for any of us in the healing arts to help our neuropathy patients.

So here’s the best advice I can give you today. Number one: take diligent care of any underlying and urgent medical problems first. For example, if you have diabetes, cancer, or heart disease, they must be managed in the best way possible.

Next, seek immediate care from physicians who will work with your other healthcare providers to give you the most effective home and clinic care during the time of your greatest need. And I don’t mean simply prescribing. I’m talking about taking corrective action wherever this is possible.

Third and perhaps the most difficult is to take a very hard look at your own health habits, which are often correctable. Diet and smoking are two big ones. Lack of regular activity, is another.

How can this possibly affect your neuropathy? The answer is very significantly!

We know for example that being just 10 or 20 pounds overweight will have a significant negative impact on your body. Cholesterol, blood fats, and blood sugar tend to be higher.

In many patients this alone over a long period of time is enough to cause neuropathy. Can it really be this simple? The answer is yes! But what is more challenging is learning the precise lifestyle, home care and dietary steps you should take on a daily basis. That’s why we are here! There is so much available for you in our videos books and resources and every day through our social media sites too!

Holiday Stress? Just Say No.

Holiday Stress? Just Say No.

One key to avoiding holiday stress is knowing that
it’s okay just to say, “No.”

It is long been known that on the scale of psychological stresses, the holidays rank near number one.

Why is that?

As you probably guessed, there are many reasons—who can’t name a few? Finances, our and our spouses’ expectations, and—often the biggest—family.

It could be this has been a physically or financially difficult year for you. If so, the holidays might bring dread rather than joy.

Sometimes it’s best to just to say, “No, I’m not participating.”

Seriously, I read this many years ago in one of my favorite life simplification books.

Yes, this could be the right solution for you. Sometimes one of the healthiest things we can do is just choose not to participate in chosen—or all—holiday activities.

Psychologists will be the first to tell us that, as adults, the most stressful things the holidays bring are our own expectations that they will miraculously do something for us that they can’t.

So, some people will choose travel, go away for the day, or simply be by themselves.

What keeps you happy and healthy is exactly what you should do!

Others seemingly will suffer through anything, and complain about it all the while. This is how you stress yourself out! Yet others embrace the season with joy.

Whatever it is for you, start by making a healthy choice.

Like everything, keep in mind it is a choice.

“Get Rid of Your Neuropathy and Chronic Pain With this One Weird Trick”—I Don’t Think So!

“Get Rid of Your Neuropathy and Chronic Pain With this One Weird Trick”—I Don’t Think So!

The single most important thing you can do as a patient or family member is to do your homework, very carefully!

You know what I’m talking about. You have seen these ads as often as I have. ”This one Weird trick and your pain neuropathy will disappear.” Sometimes it’s just, “put this into your shoes and watch the miracles begin.” The single most important thing you can do as a patient or family member is to do your homework, very carefully!

Unfortunately, as you well know, neuropathy and most forms of chronic pain (like fibromyalgia, shingles, neuralgias, arthritis etc.) need a comprehensive approach in order for patients to improve—or whenever possible, recover!

You also understand that quality-of-life is the most important objective for any neuropathy or chronic pain patient. Now, I’d be the last to want to discount the value of good marketing… just as long as the solutions are ethical and viable.

There is rarely just one magic nutrient, drug, therapy, or technique that by itself is going to restore your health. This is a fact. This is exactly why we use only a multi-pronged approach to treatment for our patients.

What is most important, however, is that you keep yourself on track, making incremental—but definite—progress, on a daily basis!

The big things we all need to pay attention to such as maintaining a carbohydrate controlled, plant-based and junk-free diet, staying away from alcohol, smoking, getting as much physical activity as your condition allows, and really taking the time to understand the impact these behaviors have on your health—and how destructive or lifesaving your behaviors can be.

Above all, it is critical to be working with physicians who are fully on your side and encourage you to improve your health—not just calm your symptoms with medication.

This is what we do all day long- help patients just like you and also help train physicians how to implement all these tools for treatment as well as lifestyle training into their practices and to be at their very best for you!

Daily routines can make for a happier days.

When conditions like shingles, peripheral neuropathy and back pain linger, a real strategy is needed to best get control of your life.

Experience in the clinic for over many years tells us repeatedly that those patents with routines do far better, suffer less pain and life disruption, including depression.

So what does this Daily plan look like? Something like this:

Get up at a set time every day. Be sure to stay well dressed and completely warm and comfortable year round. Next drink a warm beverage like coffee or tea. Use stevia instead of sugar or artificial sweeteners. Ideally, you’ll be sipping during quiet prayer or meditation, even if just for a little while. (There’s nothing wrong with longer periods either!).

Within 30 minutes of arising, have some easily digestible protein. Our favorite is Pro-Veg Shake with almond milk.

Next, some light to moderate activity like a walk, gentle bike ride, and some stretching. It’s crucial that you stay well fed and warm to get the most pain reduction and healing benefits.

After a shower or bath, get yourself to therapy if it’s a treatment day.

If not, engage in some good self-treatment! Typically our patents use their NDGen for pain or neuropathy treatment.

And then, get on to your day! Remember, to follow the ND Diet and chronic pain reduction guide you can get free HERE.  Low carbohydrate, high quality snacks like nuts and small amounts of fruit are part of this so your are never going more than 3 hours without refueling except on intermittent fasting days (if you are NOT on insulin).

You may need to work on this but always keep your life as simple and free of distraction as possible.

At the end of your day, repeat the all the same great self care and stick to the diet plan above!

This has proven to be a winning morning routine for many neuropathy and chronic pain patients, and I hope for you too!

Tell us about your morning routine!

Treatment System

One of the most frustrating things for patients and doctors alike is not having adequate treatment plans for patients who suffer from peripheral neuropathy and chronic pain. We find most of the time with our new patients there has never been a real treatment system put into place.

When a piecemeal approach is taken both by patients and their professionals early on, and the net result is failure, or possibly worsening of the underlying neuropathy and chronic pain. Commonly this is the result of a number of factors and too often it’s failure to follow up on early milder issues.

But the good news is when specific formulas are followed, you know what to expect, and we then can know how to measure your progress.

For example, most patients who suffer from diabetic neuropathy know when they keep their blood sugars within a healthy range, their neuropathy and chronic pain improves.

Conversely, when blood sugars are out of control, most often due to poor diet the net result is poor.

And the same holds true for other many other health issues. For example having a personal treatment system including scheduled exercise, a firm diet plan (Get Yours HERE) as well as daily stretching and rest can make a profound difference.

The timing of dietary supplements, and even medications can make a big difference. We know for example that regularity, in terms of time of day and spacing of dosages can make a huge difference for many patients.

We also know that when treating with the NDGen treatment system at specific times makes a huge difference and leads to bigger improvements in quality of life.

So if you find yourself not progressing as much as you would like, let us help you develop a real treatment system or “game plan” for yourself.

Remember no two patients are the same. Some trial and error is necessary to find out what works best for you.

But the good news is having a treatment system to follow provides for more measurable results!
