We recently had a patient with 5 years of intractable pain post-shingles of the lower thoracic spine. Previous care had been ineffective, meds even putting him into renal failure. He stated he hadn’t slept through the night since this began, and had shooting pains 40-50 episodes/day…
We implemented a variant protocol, and this patient had relief after one session…three days later still doing well. We are following this patient very carefully. Having suffered from PHN for 6 years, the pain never ceases, I would give the world to have some relief.
Have had a balloon decompression (lasted 3 months) have now been offered Radio Stereotypic Surgery BUT have to stay alert for the initial surgery, the hospital is 2 hours drive, I would be an in patient for 2 weeks and my husband is disabled, you can imagine my dilemma.
I would love to ‘test drive’ any new drug (one that would not make me feel like a zombie as I have to be on alert 24/7.
